IV Sedation is an option in achieving a more relaxing visit while receiving dental treatment. Once administered, it will slightly lower your state of consciousness but won’t knock you out completely. You will be able to respond to our questions and directions. Dr. Bayo whom is a general dentist performs IV sedation and will always go over the procedure in detail before they begin. If you have any questions, ask us and we will gladly answer them. Perhaps your anxiety is mild – we at Alpen Dental will be able to present you with other options.
Put your Mind at Ease
To take your mind off of it, it can help to focus on something else. We have tv monitors installed above each of our dental chairs and have headphonesfor your comfort. We also have several Ipads for our patient’s use.
We want to make your visit with us as pleasant as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your time with us more enjoyable.
What about after the Treatment?
You will want to avoid crunchy or chewy foods for a few days. Ice can bring down swelling (very helpful after tooth extraction).
General soreness and discomfort can be alleviated with over the counter pain relief medicine such as Tylenol, Aspirin, or Ibuprofen. (Warning: Never leave aspirin on a sore tooth. Aspirin is an acid that can burn your gums. If prescribed, simply swallow the tablet with water.) For more severe cases, your dentist can write a prescription for intensive pain relief.
We are determined to keep you smiling during and after your procedure.
